About Gloria Dunshee

When asked for a capsule summary of the author, 37 people remembered how she broke her foot, falling down the stairs chasing a hamster in the dark, 14 others recalled how she dislocated her shoulder slamming into a cement post when bags “got away from her” at the airport, a few others thought back on other misadventures and smiled. All agreed that writing children’s books seemed like a good, non-threatening occupation for her. If she can avoid finger sprain it will be a good day. Gloria Dunshee has been writing funny stories about her family for years, much to their amusement and chagrin. Although these stories have been at their expense, they have wanted her to write more stories for the public, and finally the reason came - a grandson, William. Her daughter, Karne McGary, mother of William, has always wanted to illustrate books for children, so this was the perfect collaboration for both of them.
